October Perfume Events - Ghosts, Grasses + Gogol

Another week, another tempting array of olfactory adventures to drag me away from my desk and Accounts (argggg):

Wednesday 23rd  - Sniff + Scream at The Water Poet

This should be great fun,  as Odette Toilette is holding one of her imitable evenings of fragrant shenanigans.  This time with a supernatural twist in keeping with the season, so we shall be exploring the scent of ghostly vapours and fearful stenches?

All being well, I shall report back!

Thursday 24th - Perfume Lover's London - Vetiver

Oh glorious joy!  Vetiver - in all its smoky, earthy, 'bonfire + baked hams' complexity is ONE of my most FAVOURITE ingredients in all the world.  This my 'trigger' scent and just an inhale has my mind + spirit whoooooooshing back in time, it's my memory maelstrom in a bottle!   I have a couple of varieties of this oil in my kit and like to sneak it in to many blends, but I am looking forward to luxuriating in some choice perfume samples.

Friday 25th - London (secret location!)

I shall be hidden away in a room for a few hours, sampling and sniffing an apothecary range and exploring its ingredients for an event I shall be delivering next year.  Watch this space.

Sunday 27th  - Shostakovich'sThe Nose at the Phoenix Cinema

Well, its a bit left-field, but still genre relevant!  The lovely Phoenix Cinema is showing this Met Opera of Gogol's story on Sunday afternoon, with Shostakovich's score.  I knew of the story but have not (yet) read it, so I'll keep an open mind!
