Join me and the team at MudGang pottery studios for an introductory session exploring the ancient devotional art of incense.

This creative, practical workshop focusses on using premium aromatic materials; such as resins, herbs, fruits, flowers, seeds, spices and essential oils selected for their historic, therapeutic and fragrant use.

You will be introduced to a variety of plant botanicals and essential oils, via smell and touch. We will explore their history and uses and you will learn how to select and blend them to create your own beautiful and unique incense to take home with suggestions for blending and adapting recipes at home.

Two sets of incense will be made: one batch of cones to a group recipe and your own personalised batch of loose incense.

In the afternoon segment, you will learn how to create functional incense holders, using hand built techniques with room for discussion, trying out decorative techniques and the opportunity to personalise your pieces.
